Kindle Paperwhite

A recent purchase of mine is a kindle paperwhite. I was hesitant to invest in this piece of technology because I am a true classic book lover. I love nothing more then flipping through the pages of a physical book and I even love the smell of them. I was worried that purchasing any sort of kindle would take some of the magic away from reading. While using a kindle doesn't give me the exact same feeling as just sitting down and reading a classic book the pros of this device have converted me to a kindle fan.

First the ease of borrowing and buying books is phenomenal. I can be anywhere with an internet connection and if I finish the book I'm reading or just decide that I'm just not interested or in the mood for what I was reading I can purchase or borrow another book from the library instantly on my kindle. If I was reading a physical book this would be a situation where I would have to lug around multiple physical books which may be bulky or heavy. A kindle can just be thrown in your bag and forgotten about.

Another huge plus with this device is the fact that it can store an insane amount of books, never before have I been able to bring that many books with me on vacation and again the ease of just tossing it in my bag and not worrying about it but still having essentially my entire library at my finger tips is incredible.

I was worried about reading off of the kindle because I am one of those people who are prone to headaches after looking at screens for a long amount of time. I figured since this is in fact an electronic and I would be looking a screen then I would eventually get the dreaded screen time headache. Kindle has actually managed to invent a screen that is the same experience as reading off of a piece of paper. There is no glare, no eye strain and no headaches when I use this device! It is incredible when you compare it to reading off of a cell phone or an iPad. My kindle is also lighted so if I choose to I can read in the dark. This comes in handy on plane rides where  a seat mate may not want an overhead light on or even reading in bed so no bedside lamp is needed!

In closing, I'd recommend giving the kindle (and specifically the paperwhite) a try. I had a really pleasant experience with mine and you may find a new and more convenient way to read!
